Pulverized topsoil has been run through a shredder to break up clumps, remove larger rocks and debris, and create a fine, consistent texture. Because it is already broken down, it blends easily into existing soil, fills raised beds without leaving air pockets, and gives grass seed or sod a smooth, even surface to root into. Most homeowners starting a new lawn, building a garden bed, or filling in low spots around the house reach for pulverized soil because it is ready to use straight out of the pile.

Raw topsoil skips the extra processing step. It comes straight from the ground as it was dug, so it may contain small rocks, clumps, or organic matter that pulverized soil does not have. That makes it a more affordable option per yard, and it is a smart choice for larger volume jobs where a perfectly fine texture is not the priority, such as rough grading, building up a low area before a final finish layer goes down, or backfilling around a foundation or retaining wall. Many landscapers and contractors order raw soil for the bulk of a job and finish with a thinner layer of pulverized on top where appearance and plantability matter most.

For pickup, you will bring a truck or trailer out to our location near Washington, MO, and we will have your topsoil loaded and ready at the scheduled time. Pickup orders have a 5 cubic yard minimum. Because loading and scheduling a truckload takes the same setup regardless of quantity, we ask that pickup customers order at least 5 yards so we can keep pickup times efficient for everyone. There is no minimum for delivery orders, so if you only need a yard or two, delivery may be the better option.

For delivery, we bring the soil straight to your property using our own trucks. Delivery pricing is based on distance from our location, and larger orders may require multiple truckloads depending on total volume. When you request a delivery estimate during checkout, we calculate the driving distance to your address so you know the delivery cost upfront before you place your order.

Whichever option you choose, we will always confirm your preferred date and quantity before the order is finalized, so there are no surprises on delivery or pickup day.
